you, my youngest, my baby, are turning 13 today. it's official. you're a teen.


As you can see, he's thrilled (it might have something to do with modeling the hat for me, lol).

It's been a long hard haul, and at one time, i wasn't sure if we'd make it to 13. we've been through screaming fits, and destructive behavior, and all the ups and downs of a preadolescent, only cubed.

We've been through foster care, and foster parents, and tests of faith and love.

But you know what? You're incredibly smart, and funny, and have turns of thought that no 13 year old should have. You think about things like how to actually invent the crazy things you find on your video games. The scary part? I'm sure you'll do it! You, my child, are Leonardo DaVinci, Michaelangelo, and every video game inventor all rolled into one.

Happy birthday, kiddo. Here's to a ton more.
