OH MY EFFING GOD!

ok, i know you're not all yarnies that read my blog, and many of you may not have heard of the Mystical Creations Yarn scandal. but i gotta tell the world. shortly after Gigi, of Socktopia fame, passed away, it came out that Danielle Glunt, of MCY infamy (crappy yarn, poorly dyed, lousy shipping (if at all)) had been in the hospital for a month, (then six months) and was dying of leukemia. and the family was "trying" to fill her orders, and offering all kinds of crazy stuff, because they didn't know what she was doing, and "come buy it all so we can pay her medical bills" and crazy stuff like that.

well, apparently, it was a lie. an employee has come forward and outed Danielle and her husband, Zach. If you've been burnt by this heinous pair, contact the New Mexico Attorney General, and file a fraud complaint. Let's keep this, this, this, gah, ihave no words, and you know that's saying alot, PERSON and her husband from burning anyone else.

Wow.

Just, wow.

I can't believe someone doing that...I'd be afraid of tempting fate or God or something if I claimed that I was sick when I wasn't just to get sympathy and to be able to get away with stuff.

it's like I tell my students about the sciences: there are certain ethics you have to abide by, or you don't get to work in that field any more. The guy who lied about some stem cell research? He's probably sweeping floors somewhere now.

Hopefully the "yarn community" will make it so this person never again works in the world of yarn...

That's just terrible . . . and the knitting community is so generous, you just know that they came through for her when they thought she was in trouble....

That's just sick.

Maybe someone will finally file a class action suit against her. We should title the thread when the Dye Fumes Turn. Tagged you!

I once bought some rayon 'yarn' from this Yahoo. It took threats & two months to actually get it & it wasn't even what I ordered - figured it wasn't worth the hassle to return. But, I couldn't believe it when I got the sad email from a 'relative' about Danielle 'dying' in hospital. I almost ordered some of the stock to help out . . . . I can't believe a Business Person would DO this sort of thing - especially a Fibre Person!!

As a newbie yarnie with a new etsy shop, this really ticks me off! As a person, this really ticks me off! I've been doing a lot of catching up on various blogs and can't believe I missed this until now. Good grief!

There is now Margaret Handpainted Yarn, selling Danielle's inventory. But no obituary in the Albuquerque Journal, which is what made me suspicious. I was going to buy until I saw these posts. What a tremendous shame.

...ANd if you're on Ravelry, you probably know that she is alive and well, and driving around in a new car.

Nice, huh?
