this is the hat i started last night. it turned out relatively well, considering this pattern is warped from the same pattern i used for jenny's hat. i changed the cable, and made the hat smaller. does that make it my original design?

I had a yarn store owner tell me that as long as you change the pattern 10% or more you can claim the result as original. It is considered polite and professional to acknowledge where you got your "inspiration" from when altering someone else's pattern.
