i have pics!

first off, let's do the red scarf for the red scarf project that norma has been promoting on her blog.
liam is being a dork, but that scarf is wrapped around his neck TWICE. remember, i said it was about 10 feet long?

and here's the "fringe" benefits:
the "fringe" was done by chaining 10, then slip stitching back, sc in next stitch, ch 10, slip stitch back, etc, etc. i hate fringe, but this i can deal with. it won't fray, or unravel, or tangle (too badly, anyway, lol.
i also made felted coasters for the boys' grandmother:
these were made with lion brand wool, and the "n" was needle felted with brown sheep lamb's pride. they are in a little woolen felted "box" as well. here's a shot of all 5:
there were supposed to be six, but i dropped one and didn't catch it until i was searching through hot water in the washing machine for the 6th one. she was amazed when she found out i'd made them. (you'd think she'd be used to it by now, i was married to her son for 11 years.) and here's my mom:
doesn't she look so festive? what you can't see is that she is wearing red lace up shoes, as well! yes, s he is a TINY thing. i think she's like 4'9" by now. she has scoliosis, so the shrinking that comes with age is exaggerated with her. when i was a kid she was 5'. still not huge, but still. not bad for being nearly 79, eh?

funny, the lights in the star on the top are actually red! oh well, it's still pretty.
